STATEMENT FROM HEADQUARTERS INC. RE: KATE SPADE

We are saddened to hear of Kansas City native, businesswoman, and designer Kate Spade’s death on June 5, 2018 which has been widely reported as a suicide. We offer our condolences to her family, friends, and many many fans.
There is never only one reason for suicide. Suicide is the result of many factors such as mental health conditions, stress, life events, and access to lethal means. Suicide impacts all ages, all races, all genders, all ethnicities, and all socioeconomic classes. It does not discriminate.
We know that through education, compassion, means restriction, and professional intervention, suicide is preventable.
